Taking responsibility for forests, raw materials, and the future has always been a natural part of Sveden Trä's operations. Our work is based on long-term, sustainable values, where respect for natural resources, transparency in the value chain, and continuous development are central elements. The EU's Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) is therefore a natural step in a development we are already part of.
The EUDR replaces the previous EU Timber Regulation (EUTR) and imposes stricter requirements on the traceability of wood products, from origin to finished product. The regulation is widely discussed and a key issue in the industry, and was adopted in its current form in December 2025. It will apply from December 30, 2026, for large and medium-sized companies and for smaller companies that were previously covered by the EUTR. For other smaller companies, it will apply from June 30, 2027.
How Sveden Trä works Sveden Trä EUDR
We are working actively and systematically to adapt our systems, processes, and working methods to meet the requirements of the EUDR. The goal is to ensure that the necessary reference and verification numbers are available at the time of delivery, well in advance of the regulations coming into force.
At the same time, we are closely monitoring developments and adapting our work based on the conditions and guidelines that are clarified along the way, in order to ensure both compliance and a functioning everyday life for our customers and partners.
A natural step in our sustainability work
Sveden Trä FSC® and PEFC certified, and sustainable forestry is an integral part of our identity. The implementation of the EUDR further strengthens this work and contributes to increased transparency throughout the value chain.
We will provide ongoing information about relevant updates as the regulations approach their effective date.
