Implementation of EUDR

Taking responsibility for the forest, the raw material and the future has always been a natural part of our work. At Sveden Trä, we see it as our mission to operate a business built on sustainable values – not only for our own sake, but for future generations. It is about respect for natural resources, transparency throughout the entire value chain, and continuously developing our way of working in line with new requirements and insights.

In recent months, we have therefore intensified our work to prepare for the EU's new deforestation regulation, EUDR, which comes into force on December 30, 2025, and replaces the current EUTR. The regulation aims to prevent deforestation through stricter requirements for the traceability of wood products – from origin to finished product.

We are now actively working to adapt our systems and processes to ensure that reference and verification numbers are available upon delivery.

Our goal is to be prepared well in advance of the regulations coming into force. We are aware that the complexity of our flows may imply variations between different parts of the business – but we see this as a natural part of long-term responsibility.

Sveden Trä is already FSC® and PEFC certified, and our work for sustainable forestry is a natural and living part of our identity. The implementation of EUDR is a natural step in our continued journey towards even greater transparency and sustainability.
